Introduction
Hey there! I hope you are reading awesome books right now! I just finished an amazing book that I want to talk about. The book I am talking about is "Wicked Fox". I just finished this book yesterday and I was sad to see it end. I loved this book with all of my heart! It was sweet, but very dark and sad at times. I enjoyed every moment of this book! It took me three weeks to finish this book because I didn't want it to end! I read it very slowly because I wanted to take my time with it. "Wicked Fox" is officially my favorite book of 2019 so far. It's also one of my new favorite books now! Let's get on to the review
Plot-5/5
This book doesn't have much of a plot. I went into it expecting a paranormal romance set in a contemporary setting and that's exactly what I got. I thought the plot was very unique, I have never read a book about Korean Mythology before and it was so interesting to read about!
Setting-5/5
The Setting was definitely my favorite part of the book. I have never seen or read about Seoul, South Korea before this book. I love learning about different cultures and countries so this book was right up my alley. The imagery was so good! I could easily picture the setting and what it's like to live in Seoul. I even went online and researched the location to see what it looks like in real life. Also all the food references were so cool to read about! I was never really familiar with Korean Culture until this book. I always liked K-pop but I never really knew much about their food. Every time the author mentioned a food dish, I immediately looked it up on Google to learn about it.
Writing-5/5
I really liked Kat's writing. This is her debut book and I'm blown away by how talented she is. I liked that she wrote the book in the pov's of the two main characters. I love reading from the girl and the guy's perspectives. I thought it was cool how she would incorporate chapters written about Korean Mythology and you learn more about a certain character. She also has a really nice writing style.
Pacing-5/5
I've seen reviews stating that the pacing was very slow. Even though this book took me three weeks to read, I didn't think it was slow at all. It reads like a contemporary so don't expect it to be fast-paced like a fantasy novel. I thought the pacing was fine. She added in drama and plot twists around the middle of the book and it really kept me interested. I was never bored reading this book and I never got sick of reading it. I loved everything about this book!
Cover-5/5
This cover is absolutely gorgeous! I love it so much, it is perfection! It's definitely one of my new favorite book covers now.
Characters-5/5
The characters in the book are amazing! I loved all the characters in this book. It took me a while to really like Miyoung to be honest. I didn't think she was very likable at first. She was also kind of cold and selfish. I understand why she was like that. Throughout the book she grew on me. Her character was amazing! She started to open up more to people and she became a lot nicer and caring. By the end of the book I really loved her! Jihoon was so adorable! I loved him since the beginning of the book. He is so sweet and so cute! I loved his bond with his grandmother and his relationships with Somin and Changwan. I loved their group. Their jokes made me laugh at times. The romance was so well done! I really liked how Miyoung and Jihoon were friends for a long time and then romance formed later in the book. There was a lot of drama between them but it's expected in a YA novel. They both had family issues to deal with and I loved how this book mentioned family a lot. Even though both of their home lives were kind of dysfunctional, they still had close bonds with the people that raised them. I think one of the lessons I learned from this book was forgiveness. Even though they were both hurt from the past and had a parent that wasn't present in their lives, they learned to forgive them.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I loved this book so much!! It is a new favorite book of mine. I highly recommend everyone to read this! If you love anything about Korea or reading about Korean characters, you need to read this! I am obsessed with this book and I want to recommend it to everyone. I obviously gave the book a perfect rating of 5/5 Lily Pads. It is definitely worth a buy! Now I want to read more books about Korean characters. I have several of them so I can't wait to read more! I also can't wait to read the next book in this series. Go read this book right now, you will not regret it! Thank you so much for reading this review. Have a great day and keep reading! :)
